Krewe of Saturn Krewe organized in 1983

Look for krewe emblem cups, lighted beads and the very collectible Fat Lady dolls.
Saturn started its Carnival orbit in Kenner, bounced a bit between Metairie and Kenner, then landed firmly in the Orleans parish schedule in 1993.
It's a Roman god!  It's a planet!  It's a day!  It's a pagan festival!  It's an automobile!  It's a krewe!!!
The god of agriculture lends his name to this organization and its satirical bent, now into its second decade of revelry and rudeness.  Every parade from this saucy organization ends with the signature Fat Lady float, one of the new highlights of the parade season.
This krewe shares a Roman themeThis krewe shares a Roman theme with the krewes of Aquila, Bacchus, Caesar, Centurions, Gladiators,  Mercury,  and Saturn.
FlambeauThis krewe is among those krewes that present flambeaux, including the krewes of
Babylon, Chaos, d'Etat, Druids, Hermes, Orpheus, Proteus, and Sparta.
Hurricane KatrinaThis krewe was stopped from marching in the 149th Carnival  celebrations by Hurricane Katrina.  The krewe shares that bond with Adonis, Aphrodite, Arabi, Atlas, Bards, Choctaw, Cleopatra, Gladiators, Grela, Hermes, L'il Rascals, Mercury, NOMTOC, Oshun, Pegasus, Pontchartrain, du Vieux, and Crescent City.
