after the Great Depression, the knights take their name from the Greek
mythos of the winged courier of the gods. Featuring flambeaux and
torch carriers, Hermes is a step back in time to the grandest age of
Carnival, beginning with the golden statue that preceeds each parade,
right down to the air of secrecy that pervades the air around them.
