Formed
in 1972, the Krewe of Cleopatra holds the honor of being the first
exclusively-female organization for the ladies of the Westbank
of New Orleans. For over three decades, Cleopatra officially
opened the metropolitan New Orleans parade schedule before moving the
parade to Jefferson Parish in 2003.
They are named for the legendary Egyptian queen whose fabled beauty is
remembered in their motto:
"Her Beauty is Timeless,
Her Age is Now - Forever".
This krewe shares its Egyptian theme

This
krewe was stopped from marching in the 150th Anniversary celebrations
by Hurricane Katrina. The krewe shares that bond with
