Krewe of Cleopatra Krewe organized in 1972

Queen
Look for cups, doubloons, coasters, frisbees, soccer balls, keychains, and inflatable Egyptian headpieces.
Watch for the Queen's Royal Barge, one of the most beautiful floats in Mardi Gras.
Formed in 1972, the Krewe of Cleopatra holds the honor of being the first exclusively-female organization for the ladies of the Westbank of New Orleans.  For over three decades, Cleopatra officially opened the metropolitan New Orleans parade schedule before moving the parade to Jefferson Parish in 2003.
They are named for the legendary Egyptian queen whose fabled beauty is remembered in their motto:
"Her Beauty is Timeless, Her Age is Now - Forever".
This krewe shares an Ancient Egyptian theme This krewe shares its Egyptian theme with  Thoth and  Isis.
This krewe shares the name of a legendary ruler. This krewe shares a theme of historical rulers with the krewes of CaesarKing Arthur, and Napoleon.
Hurricane KatrinaThis krewe was stopped from marching in the 150th Anniversary celebrations by Hurricane Katrina.  The krewe shares that bond with Adonis, Aphrodite, Arabi, Atlas, Bards, Choctaw Gladiators, Grela, Hermes, L'il Rascals, Mercury, NOMTOC, Oshun, Pegasus, Pontchartrain, Saturn, du Vieux, and  Crescent City.
