Look for special edition doubloons given by the officers on horseback, and the very special wooden Captain doubloons.
Despite the similarities, the Knights are not connected to the Mystic Krewe of Adonis that paraded for 15 years in Orleans Parish from 1949 to 1964.
In Greek mythology, Adonis was the epitome of male beauty, admired by mortals and gods alike.  This krewe was formed to bring a Carnival parade to Gretna on the Westbank, and now march on the Sunday before Mardi Gras.
This krewe shares a Greek linkThis krewe shares a Greek theme with the krewes of Aphrodite, Argus Atlas Endymion, Hermes Iris Jason Morpheus Muses, Okeanos Orpheus Pegasus, Proteus Morpheus, Nemesis Pygmalion Rhea Sparta and  Zeus.
